Custom Sales Tools
Turn a photograph into sales intelligence.
Hugo Greene built an application that analyzes restaurant menus and liquor-store shelves. It identifies products, checks them against a distributor’s catalog, and highlights information a representative can use in a sales conversation.
The problem
Sales representatives need to know what an account sells, which competing products are present, and how prices compare. Gathering that information from menus, store shelves, and large product catalogs takes time.
How it works
The representative uploads a menu or shelf photograph. The application analyzes the visible products and pricing, then compares its findings against more than 50,000 Connecticut wholesale price postings from 21 wholesalers.
It can identify the distributor’s products within the assortment, compare what the account carries with competing distributors’ posted wholesale prices, and suggest relevant product opportunities. The representative reviews the findings before using them to prepare recommendations for the account.
How we built it
Nick Greene translated a distributor’s sales-research process into an AI-assisted application. The workflow combines image analysis, product matching against posted wholesale prices and a structured report for representative review. It covers restaurant menus and retail shelf photographs. Uncertain or low-margin findings are flagged for review rather than presented as recommendations, and results depend on the photo and the product data available. The application is covered by more than 400 automated tests.
